Guidance

7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

- Matthew 7:7-8 (NLT)

Last Tuesday Pastor Keith, our Lead Pastor at Centerpointe, asked us the staff how we were doing and where we were at in life. We just came off an awesome Easter weekend where God moved in and through Centerpointe. We had over 300 in attendance at our worship service and over 600 registered guests at our Easter Eggstravaganza. During our worship service, I was overwhelmed with what God has done and was going to do. You know when things are just happening good or bad that are out of your control but you know God’s hand is on it and this unexplainable peace and joy grips you? That’s what I was feeling this special Easter.

I know I didn’t end up at this place without the request of God’s guidance and wisdom. Today I am engaged to Casey Leech, my best friend that I thought God wasn’t going to put in my life till far in the future, I wake up doing what I love to do at the place that I grew up to love, and surrounded by the love of friends and family I have never experienced before. 3 years ago I knocked at the door of God’s mercy and wisdom. He opened and welcomed me in and believe me when I say, “In His presence is where I forever want to be.”

Nearing The Year Mark

“The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” -Proverbs 9:10

These past 11 months have been a huge learning experience for me. I have learned a lot about working in ministry and all the spiritual battles that come with it. My love for the work of God’s Kingdom has grown because of it. The families God has placed on my path these past 11 months have changed my life. Pastor John & Karri Carter, the Children’s Ministry & Christian Education Pastors at Centerpointe, have invested so much in me. I can’t thank them enough for their continuous prayers, encouragement, and counseling in my ministry, my walk with Jesus, and my plans of getting married to my fiancé, Casey. Pastor Dave, the Youth Pastor at Centerpointe (my brother), has encouraged me to be better not only in my ministry but in my walk with Jesus. My passion for God’s calling in my life has grown because of this brother. God has also placed people in my life during my 11 months at Centerpointe as a guiding light to what He wants me to be. In October 2010 I met a friend who left his whole family 3000 miles away to build a future for them in NoVA and knowing he couldn’t do it all on his own he looked for guidance in God’s Word and through Godly advice. Encouraging him to be strong for his family I saw the kind of husband and father I would one day want to be. For those I haven’t mentioned, you know who you are, I love you guys and I can’t thank you enough for how you continue to invest in me.

I’m nearing a year as the Media & Promotions Director at Centerpointe Church at Fair Oaks and so far God has made it everything I thought it could be and everything I didn’t expect. Thank you Father for your faithfulness, I continue to be in awe of it. I’m ready to get this year mark behind me and look forward for more years to come.
